BBC Introducing

Available for over a year

She's toured the country, the continent and the states: Get to know Alvechurch-born Rubii, who's been winning fans all over with her combination of jazz-infused hip-hop. Supported by BBC Hereford & Worcester with first radio plays in 2018, she's played sessions with BBC Introducing at Hereford College of Arts, a BBC Radio 1Xtra Cypher at the legendary Maida Vale studios, alongside picking up national airplay for fun. Born to classically trained musical parents, this act studied in Brighton and has found audiences singing her tracks back to her, whether Rubii is playing inside a sweaty room or a big festival stage. She describes how she reflects on successes, tuning out of the noise with mood lighting and celebrating life making music. Fans share how Rubii's events make them feel safe, in addition to hearing her tracks in far-flung corners of the world, from cafés in Thailand to the foyer of the Sydney Opera House.
