The cemetery contains 471 First World War burials. Over 300 of these were for Canadian soldiers.

An annual Canada Day ceremony at Shorncliffe commemorates them.

  • Once known as 'Slope Road' the steep path connecting the Leas to Lower Sandgate Road and the harbour was renamed.
