On the wild and rugged island of Ulva, Banjo Beale and husband Ro are pushing forward with their daring plan to renovate a ruinous house into their grand island hotel. However, life on an island off an island hits harder, with deerstalkers' gunshots cracking across the island to provide a stark reminder that life out here is wild.

While the landscape feels unpredictable, Banjo is wrestling with his own challenge: turning a quaint but tired island café into a destination restaurant that could potentially fund their greater dream. The Boathouse restaurant needs to generate money, and without it, Banjo and Ro risk running out of funds entirely. Inspired by a nearby shipwreck, Banjo envisions a weathered, worn aesthetic brought indoors - an ambitious idea made even tougher by the fact that they plan to keep trading while the work takes place. Every penny lost edges them further away from their vision for the grand island hotel. To pull it off, Banjo and Ro must call in experts from far and wide, including master craftspeople and scenic artists. Banjo digs deep into his little black book for contacts, but can they transform the restaurant ready for opening night?

Meanwhile, work at Ulva House rumbles on as contractors arrive to rip out and repair sections of the failing roof; a messy and thunderous job happening only metres from the rooms Banjo has just completed. In their effort to make Ulva House feel like their home, Banjo and Ro expand their family with two new piglets. But on an island as vast and wild as Ulva, the escape of one pig can cause potentially disastrous consequences.

As pressure mounts from all sides - financial, emotional, and logistical - the question remains: can Banjo and Ro bring their ambitious plans to life before the island throws them a challenge they can’t outrun?
