Episode 6

Taking on their most ambitious space to date, Amanda and Alan aim to turn the unloved patch of land at the front of the house into a Mediterranean garden. Whilst Alan’s keen to attract the island’s biodiversity, Amanda wants to bring the bling, decorating the ancient olive tree with multiple chandeliers! But plants and lights are the least of their worries, as the land resembles a lay-by and is continuously being used as the village car park. Hoping to put the parking debacle to an end, Alan wastes no time roping in Stamatis to help work out the boundary line of their plot and tries to grab a little extra land in the process.

Chandeliers aside, Amanda and Alan want to make a feature out of their ancient olive tree and get their hands dirty building bespoke circular stone seating around the trunk, and as ever, things get a little competitive! For a well-deserved break, the best friends hit the local beach. However, it’s anything but relaxing, as their nerves are tested more than ever on a high-adrenaline inflatable sofa.

Alan’s fears don’t stop at water sports. He visits a beekeeper at the Vasilakis estate for a close encounter with the master pollinators! Meanwhile, Amanda is all guns blazing on-site, keeping the builders in line as she aims to build an enormous flower bed full of Mediterranean plants. For a little respite, the DIY duo head to a local beach at sunset for a swimming lesson with some rescue horses, but they get more than they bargained for when they are ravaged by a swarm of mozzies!
