Amanda and Alan’s creative juices are flowing as they go all out with the master bedroom, designing an Aphrodite-themed suite for parents to reconnect on holiday, inspired by the goddess of love, beauty, pleasure and procreation, Alan is still determined to have a summer romance of his own and whisks Amanda away to a tourist hotspot known as the Channel of Love. Legend has it that if you swim through the tunnel, you will meet the love of your life on the other side, but Alan’s experience is far from a fairy-tale ending.
Things are looking more positive on the design front as Amanda forages for driftwood to turn into some bedside lamps and Alan leans into his rustic side, upcycling the old front doors into a statement headboard. Whilst Alan hasn’t found love on the island just yet, Amanda falls head over heels for a newly rescued foal at the local donkey sanctuary and faces the daunting task of making him feel safe enough to start eating again. Alan finds himself in a similar situation, as his mum Christine is struggling to eat some traditional Corfiot dishes at a historical taverna in the island’s oldest village.
In a bid to bring a natural look to the room, Amanda and Alan step out of their comfort zone and attempt colour-washing the walls for a plaster effect, with dire results! For a much-needed breather, they head to the stunning clifftop Paleokastritsa Monastery, where the peaceful tranquillity of their surroundings causes Amanda to reflect on a very poignant time in her life.
