Episode 4

Amanda and Alan show some love to the heart of the home, the kitchen. But with ivy growing out of the windows and a roof on the verge of collapse, it’s not an easy ride.

With cracks in the walls, ivy growing out of the windows and a roof on the verge of collapse, Amanda and Alan need to show some love to the heart of the home, the kitchen. For the first time ever, the pals want to go all out with a super-sleek modern design, and Stamatis gets a taste of Amanda’s assertiveness as she’s let loose in a kitchen showroom. Meanwhile, Alan feels the heat as he attempts to make the traditional Corfiot dish Pastitsada with a Greek grandmother who takes no prisoners!

As Alan’s struggling to find love on the island, Amanda takes matters into her own hands and secretly sets him up on a Greek dating app. None the wiser, Alan has a DIY date with Scott to restore the original bread oven, and after discovering the art of throwing plaster – at the kitchen wall – he inadvertently discovers something new about himself. After a day of hard graft, the friends take a boat ride to one of the smallest islands of the Greek archipelago, Paxos, and revel in the crystal-clear turquoise waters at the famous Blue Caves.

As the kitchen’s original flagstone floor is resting on nothing but earth, Stamatis employs Amanda and Alan to lift up all the slabs by hand before they can be re-laid once again. Worried that Amanda doesn’t have the guns to lift the dead weight, Stamatis tries to help out, which makes her even more determined to show him what she’s made of. Thirty-five slabs later, Amanda and Alan treat themselves to an open-top bus tour of Corfu Town, but their sightseeing experience is compromised, as they’re relentlessly hit in the face by low-hanging trees!
