Episode 3
Inspired by Gerald Durrell’s love of wildlife, Amanda and Alan design their first ever children’s bedroom and visit Gerald’s widow Lee for inspiration.
Amanda and Alan let their imagination run wild as they live out their inner child and design their first ever children’s bedroom. Drawing inspiration from Gerald Durrell’s love of wildlife, the best pals manage to track down his widow Lee and unearth some fascinating tales of his childhood on the island.
Without tons of space to work with, Amanda gets creative and calls in Scott to help build a bespoke L-shaped bunk bed. Meanwhile, Alan pulls a shift at the donkey sanctuary and discovers that it's far from idyllic, as he’s put on poo duty. For a much-deserved break from the dust and dung, the friends swap out the boiler suits for swimsuits and head to Corfu’s famous water park Aqualand. But what should be a fun day out soon turns into chaos!
Amanda throws herself into the world of upholstery and ropes in her mum Judy to help, but the matriarchs of the Holden family struggle to nail the craft! Alan seeks out a professional and recruits local artist Sophie to produce a wall mural inspired by Corfu’s flora and fauna, but as soon as he’s let loose with a paint brush, Sophie’s strict side comes out!
Alan’s search for a Greek god finally turns up some results as Stamatis pulls some strings to get him his first date. But having cut himself whilst shaving and missing his taxi boat to the restaurant, he is not off to the best start.
