7 pieces of celeb intel we've learned from Grimmy's star guests on the Breakfast Show

4 April 2018

The Breakfast Show plays host to a smorgasbord of famous faces on the reg and Grimmy has a knack for getting some A-grade goss out of A-list guests.

Whether he's quizzing his bezzies (we're looking at you, Rita Ora and Harry Styles) or gathering some behind-the-scenes intel from Hollywood's hottest movie stars, Grimmy always comes through with the discoveries. Here are some juicy tidbits we've learned along the way...

John Boyega divulged the Star Wars storyline to his best mate before it was released

While we drove ourselves crazy trying to predict the plot of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, there was someone walking among us who knew exactly what was about to go down in a galaxy far, far away: John Boyega's best mate.

Yup, one of the many perks of being bezzies with Boyega is knowing the storyline before the rest of us mere mortals. Don't believe us? Listen to John chat to Grimmy about it. Jealous? Us? Never.

Rebel Wilson got candid about working with DJ Khaled

We spend more time than we'd like to admit wondering what it must be like to be DJ Khaled. A quick look at his Snapchat reveals that the music producer enjoys a spot of gardening and is big on motivational talk, but what is he like when the cameras are off?

Answer: late. Rebel revealed to Grimmy that DJ Khaled was roughly three days late, give or take a day, when filming his Pitch Perfect 3 cameo. Oh, and he also referred to the hit movie franchise as 'Picture Perfect 3' but, because DJ Khaled is DJ Khaled, no one seemed to mind.

Grimmy revealed to Rita Ora which superstar relieved himself in the back of a cab

Rita Ora plays "Which celebrity had a wee in a cab after the Brits?"

Probably the first and last instalment of this game.

OK, so technically it was Grimmy who spilled the tea on this one via the medium of a one-time game we like to call: 'Which Celebrity Had A Wee In A Cab After The BRITs?'

Would you like to hazard a guess? We'll give you some clues: it's a guy and he's kind of a big deal. No, not him. Nope, not him either! Warmer... still not sure? Guess you'll have to listen to Grimmy reveal the A-list name to Rita Ora!

Niall spilled the beans on One Direction's email chain

Niall Horan lifts the lid on 1D’s email chain

The boys have been using email to share their music with each other before releasing it.

Is this the scoop of the century? We think it might be.

Niall sat down with Grimmy back in 2017 and chatted all things going solo and sharing his new music with her former One Direction bandmates. What's their messaging app of choice, you might be wondering? Well we think you might be surprised to know that the 1D guys favour a more throwback style when it comes to their communication: an email chain.

We. Have. So. Many. Questions. What's the subject line of the email chain? Are their personal email addresses as embarrassing and old as ours? How do they sign off their messages? How do we get CC'd in?

Lorde dished on her obsession with all things Mary Berry and GBBO

“I’m obsessed with Mary Berry” - Lorde is a BIG fan of the Bake Off

It looks like the show has claimed yet another victim.

In recent times, Grimmy lifted the lid on Lorde's secret onion ring-ranking Instagram account. Confused? Don't be. It's truly as straight-forward as Lorde setting up a secret Instagram account through which she ranked onion rings. Simples!

Before that, though, Grimmy grilled Lorde on her affinity for Britain's most beloved baking show and she outed herself as a Mary Berry superfan. Aren't we all?!

Sean Paul gave Grimmy the lowdown on being in the studio with Rihanna

'Rihanna was having too much fun to come to the studio' Sean Paul spills the beans

Sounds like she had a very good time when she visited him in Jamaica.

Much like Rebel Wilson giving us an insight into working with DJ Khaled, Sean Paul gave us the deets on what it was like work, work, work, work, working with Rihanna in Jamaica.

Was she as late as DJ Khaled? Well, sort of. RiRi was reluctant to hit up the studio because she was too busy living her best life on the beach and in the club. We'd do the same thing, TBH.

Nick Jonas confirmed something we've long suspected to be true

We learned a LOT from Nick Jonas when he had his turn on the Heart Rate Monitor Challenge, but the juiciest morsel of all came courtesy of the Miley Cyrus segment...

It's long been rumoured that Miley's 2008 hit 7 Things was about Nick Jonas but Nick hadn't elaborated on his involvement as inspiration for the track until Grimmy hooked him up to the monitor: "I have heard that rumour. She’s wearing a dog tag in the [video] that I gave her when I was 14 or something. I was actually kind of flattered, to be honest. It’s there forever and I know it’s about me."
