From prank calls to proposals: Meghan Trainor tells all to Scott and Chris
16 March 2018

It's been a while since we've seen Meghan Trainor but now she's back with new music and we couldn't be more excited about it.
The Dear Future Husband singer paid Scott and Chris a visit this week to chat all things proposals, prank calls and putting her family members on her latest track. Here's what we learned...
Her latest track, No Excuses, is a family affair
Can you believe it's been four years since All About That Bass first hit our airwaves? Nope? Meghan can't either.
The year following the release of THANK YOU was the most challenging year of my lifeMeghan Trainor
Sharing her sentiments in an Instagram post, Meghan detailed the highs and lows of her years since then, including her vocal cord haemorrhage...
"Wow! I can’t believe it’s been almost two years since I released THANK YOU and four years since All About That Bass came out and changed my life forever… The year following the release of THANK YOU was the most challenging year of my life. After winning a Grammy, releasing my second album and going on my third tour, I thought I’d be on top of the world - but I was wrong, it was exactly the opposite."
"There are no words to properly say thank you for your endless love and support. Getting to make music for you got me through it."
The new music in question is, of course, No Excuses and Meghan revealed to Scott and Chris that she enlisted the help of her family to provide some vocals: "My brother, Ryan, is on it. My fiancé, Daryl, and my dad and my mum, too!"
Meghan and Scott text each other on the regs

This one came as a shocker to us all: Scott Mills and Meghan Trainor are text pals.
The revelation came to light after Meghan revealed that she'd already told Scott the title of the new album over text, but she was still withholding that juicy titbit from the rest of us. While both parties seem pretty unfazed by their textual relationship, Chris stepped up and said what we were all thinking: "You never said you had Meghan's number?!"
Meghan's response: "Only a few people have it but yeah..." leaves us wondering which other A-listers Scott has on his contacts list.
Her proposal happened in a zoo but she picked her engagement ring out ages ago

Meghan Trainor got engaged in a zoo!
And it was witnessed by a right rowdy bunch!
Meghan and then-boyfriend, Daryl Sabara, got engaged back in December 2017 on her 24th birthday. How did that proposal go down, exactly? Meghan dished:
He kept trying to trick my brain and I fell for it!Meghan Trainor
"He drove me a couple of hours out of Los Angeles and told me to pack for three days but that we’d only be there for one. He kept trying to trick my brain and I fell for it! And I was like ‘I hate this! I don’t like surprises!'... and he brought me to the zoo but I didn’t know it was the zoo."
"[I just thought] 'this is the best birthday I’ve ever had and you won Daryl!' I didn't think it would be a proposal though, at all!"
Despite not knowing that she was about to be proposed to, Meghan knew that an engagement might be on the cards someday because she'd already chosen and picked up her ring.
"Before [the proposal] we picked out the ring together because I was like ‘let’s just get it right so no one has to re-buy anything or put it back’, so we had the ring for a long time but he said 'you have to let me propose and do it correctly.'"
She's a pretty convincing prank caller

It wouldn't be a Scott and Chris show if some tomfoolery didn't occur, would it?
The duo recruited Meghan to prank call Chris's estate agent friend, using her A-list status to demand such amenities as a three-person bathtub, an entirely vegan-friendly exterior and a pad in close proximity to Ronan Keating's abode.
Find out exactly how Meghan's high maintenance call was received by catching up with the show here...
