What is Asian Network Live 2019?

Asian Network Live, the station’s flagship live music event, will take place on Saturday 2nd March at the Arena Birmingham. This event is hosted by the Asian Network DJ family and represents the best in Asian music as championed by the station. You will see some of the hottest acts on the British-Asian and global music scenes come together for one night only in Birmingham.

This year’s event will be held at Arena Birmingham.

What time will the event take place?

Doors at the Arena will open at 18:30 for ticket holders to enter the venue. The show starts at 19:00 and will finish around 23:00.

TRAVEL TO / FROM THE EVENT

Pick Up / Drop off

There is no designated pick up / drop off point available at this venue. Due to the city-centre location and size of events, road closures and diversions may be in place at the end of an event making it difficult to return to your chosen meeting point. Please arrange to drop off and/or pick up away from the venue.

Parking

The on-site car park is operated by Park Jockey and has over 1,500 spaces. You can pre-book your parking in advance to guarantee your space and ensure a speedy entry and exit from the car park. Click here for full parking information and to reserve a space.

Buses

Buses run past the Arena all day long. Please visit Network West Midlands for details. If you’ve travelled by coach to Digbeth coach station, the Arena is a 30 minute walk or a short taxi ride.

Trains

Arena Birmingham is a short walk from Birmingham New Street, Moor Street, Snow Hill and Five Ways train stations. Alternatively, each station is only few minutes away by taxi.

Plane

Birmingham Airport (BHX) is located right next to Birmingham International Station, which operates a frequent services to New Street Station. Alternatively, hope into a taxi at the Airport

LOST PROPERTY

To claim any lost items post event, please call the venue on 0121 644 7010. Lines are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

SAFETY & SECURITY

Security will be present throughout all areas of Arena Birmingham and all door staff will be conducting mandatory security checks upon entry. It is a condition of entry that the ticket holder consents to being searched.

All the audience will be go through security arches and have their bags searched on entry. Anyone believed to be under the influence of alcohol or an illegal substance will be refused entry, or asked to leave.

Bags larger than 42cm x 30cm x 15cm are not permitted. That’s the size of an A3 sheet of paper.

If you do bring a bag larger than A3 then there is an arena bag drop which operates on a first come first served basis at a cost of £10 per item.

Please allow for additional time for security checks when arriving at the event.

Prohibited Items

At Arena Birmingham we’re all about ensuring every visitor has a great time, but rules are rules. It’s a condition of our venue licence that certain items are not allowed into the Arena in the interests of health and safety. These items include, but are not limited to:

  • Hot food
  • Alcohol
  • Glass bottles
  • Cans
  • Flasks
  • Cool boxes
  • Hampers
  • Large flags/banners
  • Helium balloons
  • Studded belts
  • Dog collars
  • Trouser chains
  • Selfie Sticks
  • Sharp/large rings
  • Smoke Grenades
  • Flares
  • Fireworks

Items will be confiscated and returned to you after the event, which may delay your access into and out of the Arena. If in doubt, leave it home would be our recommendation. Please note, prohibited items vary on a show-to-show basis please refer to your ticket terms and conditions for any items that are not allowed into the venue.

HOW CAN I LISTEN / WATCH?

On Saturday 2nd March 2019, BBC Asian Network and Radio 1 will be broadcasting the show live from 20:00-23:00.

All of the performances from the event will be streamed live on the BBC Asian Network website and mobile sites.

Performances will also be available to watch post event on the BBC iPlayer for 30 days.
