Event Information

TRAVEL TO / FROM THE EVENT

The Wembley area will be busy with traffic on Sunday 21st October due the BBC Radio 1’s Teen Awards at SSE Arena, Wembley and an NFL fixture taking place at Wembley Stadium. The start and end times of both events have been reviewed and amended to avoid as much congestion as possible but please read the following travel information in order to plan your journey. We would strongly advise that if you or your children are travelling to the event you plan your journeys in advance and check for the latest travel information before you depart.

Doors for the Teen Awards will open at 12:15pm for ticket holders to enter the venue. The show starts at 2:15pm and will finish around 4:15pm. Please do not arrive before 11am on Sunday 21st October – there are no provisions in place for overnight arrivals. For the NFL at the Stadium the tailgate will close at 1:30pm with the game kicking off at 2.30pm and will finish at approx 5.00pm, 45 minutes after the Teen Awards finish time.

Please be aware that this year there will not be a dedicated drop off / collection car park due to the building developments in the area.

If you drive to The SSE Arena, Wembley to drop off / collect your children at BBC Radio 1’s Teen Awards please note that the area around the venue and after the show will be very busy with traffic and crowds. We strongly advise that you do not attempt to collect your children from directly outside the venue at the Road, Engineers Way, will be closed to traffic.

The arena will not be open to allow parents to wait for the show to finish. If you plan to meet your child on foot after the event, there will be meeting points clearly labelled. A map showing the meeting points will be available online prior to the event and will be emailed to all event bookers. Please arrange with your child to meet at one of these in advance.

Routes from the local transport hubs (Wembley Stadium Station, Wembley Park and Wembley Central) will be stewarded by our event security and licensed chaperones both before and after the event. Upon arrival ticket holders will be directed to the arena.

Parking

There is no parking at the venue for this event.

National Rail

The nearest National Rail station is Wembley Stadium Station which is on the Chiltern train line, it is approximately a 15 minute walk to The SSE Arena, Wembley.

The Chiltern line travels from London Marylebone, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and the Midlands.

London Underground

Wembley Park station is the closest to The SSE Arena, Wembley and is a 10 minute walk. Wembley Park is on both the Jubilee and Metropolitan lines.

To get to the arena, please travel to Wembley Park (Zone 4) on either of these lines. Once you have exited the station, take the steps down onto Olympic Way, staff will then guide you from Olympic Way to the Arena

The next closest station is Wembley Central which is a 20minute walk from the SSE Arena. Please check the Transport For London Website for live and most up to date travel information at www.tfl.gov.uk

Lost Property

Any lost property collected during the event will be taken to the Venue’s reception and can be collected from there.

After the event, please e-mail [email protected] with the details of the lost item and your contact details and we will follow up.

SAFETY & SECURITY

As well as being present throughout all areas of The SSE Arena, additional security teams will be deployed around the local area both pre and post event.

All door staff will be conducting mandatory security checks of all audience members upon entry - everyone will be searched and will have to go through a metal detector & have their bag searched. It is a condition of entry that ticketholders consent to being searched.

To ensure audience safety, we may conduct security searches from time to time and reserve the right to confiscate any item which may cause danger or disruption to other members of the audience/the event. . It is a condition of entry that the ticket holder consents to being searched should our security team consider it necessary. Searches will be conducted in the presence of two, same sex (as ticket holder), DBS checked, S.I.A. officers.

Anyone found to be carrying illegal substances or found to be intoxicated will be refused entry or will be asked to leave. There will be drugs amnesty boxes available in front of the venue. Sniffer dogs will be in operation at this event.

Confectionery is permitted. Drink cannot be brought into the Venue. If you have a valid medical condition or need to bring babies milk, please email our customer services at [email protected]. A variety of beverages will be available for purchase within the Venue and free water is available

For security reasons, bags no larger than a standard rucksack size of approximately 35(W)x17(D)x42(H) cm will be allowed into the venue. We do not have cloakrooms.

HOW CAN I LISTEN / WATCH?

On Sunday 21st October BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards will be warming up live on air from backstage from 1 - 6pm

Performances will also be available to watch post event on the BBC iPlayer for 30 days as well as the BBC Radio 1 YouTube channel.
