Norse Atlantic Airways - February 2026

Norse Atlantic Airways is a Norwegian low-cost, long-haul airline. Over the past few months, Watchdog has been tracking numerous complaints on social media about poor service and unpaid compensation.

Lisa, from Surrey, was due to fly home from New York to Gatwick when she received an email from Norse saying her flight was delayed. In the email, Norse gave her a new check-in time of 5:30pm. When she arrived at the airport, she was told check-in had closed. Lisa, along with other passengers who received the same email, was unable to fly and had to pay for a hotel, travel back into New York, and book a new flight home. After returning to the UK, she complained to Norse. The airline said there had been a typing error and promised a refund within a week. That was in August last year. Lisa says she has received nothing since, and estimates she is owed around £1,000.

Susanna, from Suffolk, is also waiting for compensation. After an 11-hour delay on a flight from New York to Gatwick in April last year, she submitted a claim for herself, her partner and their two children. She was told she would receive a response within six to eight weeks. Months later, having heard nothing, she complained to the Civil Aviation Authority. She believes she is owed £2,200.

Since we wrote to Norse Atlantic with our findings, Lisa has been refunded £500, but is still pursuing money for her additional costs. As for Susanna, she’s been told she will receive £2600 in compensation.
