Dis dey come two days afta di incident wey claim 10 lives and injure six odas.

Buba say di deaths and injuries na sake of "secondary explosions" and not a direct result of di airstrikes.

According to Buba, on 25 December a coordinated joint operation bin dey conducted between di Air Component and di Land Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to destroy Lakurawa Terrorist Group (LTG) hideouts for Gidan Bisa and Gidan Runtuwa for Jirikon Forest, Silame local goment area of Sokoto State.

"So, naturally, wen di munition hit, secondary explosion go come from dat wey go generate oda tins wey dey fly in di air wey be wetin lead to di death of about 10 pesins wey dey reported. Di air strikes no hit di 10 pesin wey dey reported directly."

"Di pipo wey di strikes hit directly na di Lakurawa terrorist group, and dem bin burn beyond recognition," Buba tok.

'Di airstrike achieve im primary object' - DHQ

Di military say dia airstrike achieve im primary objective of neutralising di Lakurawa terrorists for di concentration area.

"Di destruction of key infrastructure wey di terrorists dey use including arms cache and logistics dumps confam say di strike dey effective.

"Di air strike on di terrorist arms cache and logistics dump lead to oda secondary explosions wey cause hoarded munitions to explode for different directions wey result in 10 deaths. Efforts dey go on to determine weda or not dem be terrorist collaborators," Buba tok.

Buba say villagers confam say "Lakurawa terrorists bin dey stay for di village and use di general areas as staging area for dia operation".

E say ISR and HUMINT reports bifor di operation consistently indicate say di hideout na high-concentration terrorist location.

"Overall, troops go continue to take painstaking measures to avoid civilian casualties. All civilians casualties dey viewed as a needless tragedy. Nevertheless, we no go relent in targeting and dislodging terrorist across our nation."
