| | Patricia Flegg is a student at Nottingham Trent University. My work is based around a study of how people, act, and or react whilst out in interactive social situations. |
 | | | Artist profile Working with colour slide, my work lends itself to be shown as either individual photographic studies, or documentary style slide sequences.
My work is based around a study of how people, (usually my peers) act, and or react whilst out in interactive social situations.
This is always at parties or in bars and clubs.
The images I produce are observational studies of people, but with an impersonal aspect.
The person in the image almost becomes an object.
Those in my images are often faceless and cropped, bringing ambiguity to a familiar situation.
Aesthetics is a major issue in my work, my influences here stem from the raw photographic fashion image found in magazines such as ID and Dazed and Confused.
The work of artists such as Jessica Craig Martin, and Nan Goldin, who both have had work published under such genres, also have great influence on my practice.
