I am working with spatial concepts and my presence and past experience.
By means of tracing my movements through shadow, I have established a technique in which I draw over and over in a conscious aim to create a sense of my physical presence.
This method allows me to focus upon my movements in a time that has past, recreating my existence within that space.
This process serves as a document itself, tracing the transformation of an event.
I am all the time looking and drawing unable to gain knowledge of the image as a whole, therefore not influencing my next move.
Each drawing becomes a proposal of what it is possible to know.
My investigations are located within the interaction between a space and a physical being.
A testament to the intimacies between me and that particular place.
There is a need for me to make a mark on the world, an almost overwhelming sense of this quiet voice wanting to be heard.
I also feel the need to continually capture moments through the use of long exposure photographs.
Marking a journey or an experience over time, it has become a meditative process for me, constantly re-energising my explorations.
My recent thinking is centred upon the importance of the process and its importance and relevance to me. Do I want the work to become simply the work?
