| | Joy Pitts is a student at Nottingham Trent University. Her work is an investigation into the narrative of memory. |
 | | | Artist profile A site-specific installation comprising of 35 sections of reclaimed floorboards, one third of which have been worked into individually by routing out an inset panel.
The work is an investigation into the narrative of memory, which in a sense appears to be unpredictable as not all memories are retained.
The inset panels pay reference to the memories which we preserve, while the remaining boards form the framework of our unconcious thoughts.
By focusing on the inherent qualities of the boards and siting them in a transitional space the piece attempts to re-amplify these notions of recollection.
