Most students come to Uni straight from school, but John has seen a little more of the world than most.

What's more he's seen quite a few things he hopes he doesn't have to witness again.

In John's own words, "it's a bit like the army, only no one tells you to get up in the morning and you get to drink more".

"I am an ex squaddie, I joined in 1994 as a skinny infantry soldier and progressed through the years becoming an army paramedic and operating dept practitioner untill my exit from the armed forces in 2003."
