Hi, my name is Jennifer, I'm 21 and I'm a student at York University. Most of the time. As a Linguistics & French student, I'm going to be spending my third year studying at the Sorbonne in Paris on an Erasmus exchange. Basically what that means is, I get a year long holiday in the city of light and don't even have to pay tuition fees for the privilege. All I have to do is turn up to a few French lectures in the most famous university in Paris. Sounds like a dream, right? But obviously things are never that simple
Paris isn't that new to me. I spent a year at university there before deciding that I wasn't cut out for further study and heading back to the sunny climes of Leeds, where I'm from. However, after four months of trying to convince rich women to buy ugly, overpriced shoes as a summer job I realised that maybe university was for me after all. After reading about universities up and down the country I finally discovered that the best course for me was in fact 20 minutes down the road in York. So off I went, and two years later, here I am ready for my study year in Paris.
