Naw Then! Yes, I have the blessing (curse?!) of being Yorkshire born and bred and capable of making conversation in unintelligible dialect to confuse tourists! More precisely I have been brought up in Ampleforth - which for those of you in the dark is a moderately sized village on the edge of the North York Moors with no particular distinguishing features except a large public school which gets its name in the papers a little too often. I am currently doing A-Levels at York 6th Form College (again, with no particular distinguishing features except Tescos opposite
) in subjects' biology, chemistry, history and archaeology. Grades permitting, I should be down in London in 2006 beginning a medical degree, although I'm taking a gap year first to be spent largely in Australia, Europe and working every hour under the sun to pay for it. Free time activities (argh! Feels like I'm writing my personal statement again) generally comprise going out with friends (when I can find the public transport/helpful friend to get me anywhere), taking advantage of the Theatre Royal's very cheap student tickets, going to the cinema, swimming, cycling, reading, writing, listening to music and sleeping. And watching medical dramas on TV (oh dear, what an admission). And I'm a Christian, and so spend at least some of each week at church or Crusaders, Ampleforth's Christian Youth Group at which I'm an assistant leader. Incidentally, I'm completely reliant on my computer spell checker and a scientist on top of that (who, I'm told by one of arts teachers, are usually illiterate
), so if some sentences don't make total sense, don't be too surprised
