Farms, animals

SELB code TO 00557
We’re in the heart of the Tyrone countryside with the children from Carebears Community Playgroup in Newtownstewart for Programme Four.

The children visit an open farm where they help us play a game of recognition – where parts of different farm animals are shown in sequence until the animal as a whole is revealed. Can you recognise a sheep by its ear, woolly coat and hooves? This is carried through to the animated story "Wee Mouse" which uses shadow and reveals to introduce farm animals.

In the second insert the boys and girls help feed the newborn baby animals at the farm. Back in the garage, we are led in a game of naming baby animals – calf, kid, piglet, foal and lamb. The song for Programme Four is "Cosy Animals", a lively song about naming where different animals are housed.
