Meet the kids campaigning for friendly footie sidelines
Playing a sport in front of spectators should feel positive, but for some that's not always the case.
Many young people and referees have experienced negativity on the pitch, coming from the sidelines.
A 2025 survey of over 150 children by The Suffolk Football Association, found that only 15% of them felt truly safe while playing football.
So, young players in the area decided to start a campaign, to encourage supporters at their games to always be respectful and kind.
One of them is Don't Come If. It's been founded by Active Suffolk and it supports kids who don't want adults to come to their matches if they're going to shout, get angry, or be anything less than completely positive.
Emma Louise went to a football club which is working with the campaign to see what it was all about.
