Is it too early for shops to be selling Easter eggs?

While some of you may not have even taken your Christmas trees down yet, some supermarkets in the UK are already getting ready for the next big holiday.
People around the country have started to see Easter egg displays in their local shops, as well as Easter themed decorations.

Easter egg hunts are a staple of the Easter holidays, but they're usually done when it's feeling a bit less chilly
It's quite common for supermarkets to get ahead of holidays like this, but with Easter being four months away in April, some people think it's a bit too early.

When is Easter this year?
Easter Sunday 2026 is on 5 April.
This means Good Friday will be on 3 April and Easter Monday on 6 April.

Easter's a movable feast because the date moves around, but feasting has become a big part of it too
Easter is what's known as a movable feast - unlike Christmas, it doesn't take place on the same day every year.
And different groups celebrate it on different days - orthodox Christians will be celebrating Easter on 12 April in 2026.
