Gavin Mann joined the BBC Media Action board of trustees in July 2017

For me it really starts and ends with media.

Digital transformation has been at the heart of my work for the last 20 years. I’ve worked across multiple industries including broadcast, music, movies, gaming and publishing.

I joined the BBC Media Action board of trustees in July 2017, having been inspired by the impressive work of the charity and the impact it’s made in the world to date.

In my role at Accenture (global broadcast industry lead) I help my clients in the media industry (including the wider BBC) transform their relationships with audiences and consumers with digital technology. I aim to help BBC Media Action to use new technologies to enhance and transform the impact it is already having on people’s lives. It doesn’t matter if it’s in the field of health or resilience, in Cambodia or Bangladesh – if we can explore new ways of working, we can increase the impact of the work. That to me is powerful.

The future looks rosy for innovative organisations who are willing and able to embrace digital technology. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and help combine the skills with the inspiring work BBC Media Action has done already - further enhancing, expanding and growing – but most importantly helping make even more of a difference.
