1) เราใช้คำคุณศัพท์เปรียบเทียบในกรณีใด?

ใช้เพื่อเปรียบเทียบสองสิ่งได้ เช่น คนสองคน สองประเทศ หรือเวลาที่ต่างกันอย่างอดีตและปัจจุบัน

2) เรานำคำคุณศัพท์มาใช้เปรียบเทียบได้อย่างไร?

หากเป็นคำคุณศัพท์ที่มีพยางค์เดียว ให้เติม ‘er’
แต่หากเป็นคำคุณศัพท์ที่มีสระหนึ่งตัวตามด้วยพยัญชนะหนึ่งตัว อย่าลืมเพิ่มพยัญชนะตอนท้ายเป็นสองตัว

• Thailand is hotter than the UK

หากคำคุณศัพท์นั้นลงท้ายด้วย ‘y’ ให้ตัด ‘y’ และเติม ‘ier’

• Thai food is spicier than British food.

สำหรับคำคุณศัพท์ที่ยาวกว่าสองพยางค์ - ให้เติม ‘more’ ไว้ด้านหน้า

• The UK is more expensive than Thailand.

3) มีข้อยกเว้นหรือไม่?

มี คำคุณศัพท์ต่อไปนี้ เป็นข้อยกเว้น:

good > better

bad > worse

far > farther/further

• The weather is worse in the UK.
• My English is getting better.
