Useful expressions

1. at death's door

అంటే చావుకి దగ్గరగా ఉండడం. చావుకు తలుపులు తెరుచుకోవడమొక్కటే మిగిలి ఉంది అనే అర్థంలో 'At death's door' అని రాయొచ్చు.

2. closer to [extinction] than feared

భయపడిందానికన్నా ఎక్కువ సంఖ్యలోనే కనుమరుగయ్యే ప్రమాదం ఉంది అని అర్థం. 

• Economy closer to recession than feared.
• Company closer to bankruptcy than feared.

3. face a murky future

'Face a murky future' అంటే అంధకారమైన, అయోమయమైన భవిష్యత్తును ఎదుర్కోబోతోంది అని అర్థం.

• Bowler faces murky future after failing to take any wickets.
• Show faces murky future after fall in ratings.
