IG07 Results

In the cycling an official from the Isle of Man was allegedly attacked by a competitor from Menorca. The Menorcan, who finished second in the mountain biking, was reported for taking a short cut by the Isle of Man team at which point he threw his bike at the official cutting his hands and face.

The Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey have all lodged a complaint against the rider and a decision will be made whether to disqualify him. If he is thrown out of the competition, Guernsey's Rob Smart who finished fourth would get the bronze medal. 

Some more positive news and at the same event Guernsey's Maggie Bichard got her hands on her second gold of the games. The mountain biker only took up the sport a year and a half a go and can't quite believe how well she's done.

In swimming's blue Riband event 17 year old Jeremy Osborne added to his gold earlier this week by winning the 100 metres freestyle. And it was a first gold medal for Ben Lowndes at his FOURTH Island Games who led from the start of the 100 metre individual medley and finished in dominating fashion. 

Shooting and Marlene Place struck gold for Guernsey in the individual trap event and Darren Burtenshaw struck bronze in the men's competition. Switching codes and after yesterday's gold Nikki Trebert couldn't quite repeat the performance in the sport pistol shooting. But the Sarnian still made the podium, picking up a bronze. 

Clare Chapple is performing well in a strong field in a standard laser sailing competition. Heading into the last day of racing the young yachtswoman lies in seventh place is thirteen points away from a medal.
