Main Entrance

This is the main entrance to our studio in Carlisle. The station "moved house" from Hilltop Heights in 1993. The purpose built studios are next door to Tullie House and opposite Carlisle Castle.

Reception

Grab a coffee and a few souvenir photographs. There's a variety of merchandise to purchase, just ask Lorraine or Sue (our receptionists) for details.

Phone In Area

Although the bulk of programme preparation takes place upstairs (see Newsroom) much of the On Air production work is done in the Phone In Area. This is the "behind the glass" area occasionally referred to by presenters.

The Studio

There are 2 main studios in Carlisle, effectively twins, giving flexibility to prepare before "going Live". This is Studio B. These days new technology has taken over and tape machines are rarely used. Computers and digital recorders have taken their place - hence the array of screens in front of the presenter.
