Robbed by the ref 毁在裁判手里

Liverpool players react to the referee's decision
Liverpool players were outraged by the referee's decision
Liverpool fans were left seeing red 愤怒 on Sunday as Chelsea managed to salvage a 1-1 draw at Anfield in a game marred 被损坏 by poor decisions by the referee.

Liverpool took an early lead with a goal from new boy Fernando Torres, who won the approval 赢得…支持 of the Liverpool fans by scoring on his home debut 主场首次亮相.

Cracked
Whether it was because the Chelsea players were talking I don't know, but in the end he's cracked and made a bad decision.

Steven Gerrard, Liverpool

But the equaliser was more controversial 有争议的, as the referee awarded a penalty against Liverpool for what appeared to be a dive 假摔.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard said the referee had been put under pressure by Chelsea players and had "cracked" 退却, meaning he had given in 让步 to their demands.

Chelsea’s charismatic manager Jose Mourinho insisted the penalty was fairly given and defended his team against accusations of trying to influence the referee.

Naive and pure
We are a naive and pure team. We do not have people diving into swimming pools.

Jose Mourinho, Chelsea manager

Mourinho described his team as "naïve" 天真的 and "pure" 纯洁的, and rejected the idea that there were "divers" 假摔者 in the Chelsea squad.

Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez responded by saying: "If that’s the case, I’m Little Red Riding Hood" 小红帽, meaning he dismissed Mourinho’s arguments as fairytales 童话.

He added that he had seen Chelsea players "talking all the time at the referee" in order to affect a decision.

There is little love lost between Benitez and Mourinho, who have frequently failed to shake hands after their teams play.

Player Pressure
I remember a lot of situations in the last three years, and you could see the (Chelsea) players talking all the time at the referee.

Rafa Benitez, Liverpool manager

But Benitez saved his harshest criticism 最刻薄批评 for the referee: "I want to have respect for the referee but only he can explain – but he will not be able to explain properly.

"There were 45,000 people here and they could not see a penalty."

The result means that Chelsea go to second place in the premiership while Liverpool lie in ninth place.

Premiership champions Manchester United are in 16th place, their worst start for 15 years.
