Bake a chocolate mug cake

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup plain flour

  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

  • 2 tablespoons sugar 

  • 2-3 pinches of salt

  • 1/4 cup milk

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

  • 1 tablespoon chocolate spread

Instructions

• Whisk together the dry ingredients.

• Add in the milk and vegetable oil and whisk until the clumps disappear.

• Pour the mixture into a microwave-safe mug.

• Make sure there is enough space for the cake to rise without spilling over the top!

• Put the chocolate spread into the middle of the mix.

• Place a paper towel into the microwave and set the mug on it in case it spills over.

• Ask an adult to help you to use the microwave.

• Microwave your mug for 70-90 seconds on high, times can vary depending on the strength of the microwave so if you’re unsure check it after 60 seconds.

• Watch your mug cake rise.

• Be careful when you remove it from the microwave as it will be hot!

• Decorate your mug cake!
