Beverley Humphreys
I’m thrilled to see Beverley Humphreys receive an award from the Welsh Music Guild for her contribution to music through broadcast. Beverley has a busy week ahead, preparing for both her World of Musicon Sunday night but also for the recording of our Christmas Brass Band Concert with the Cory Band on Saturday night. There are still tickets available for that on our ticket line: 03700 10 10 51 (standard geographic charges apply).
I’m also delighted that Louise Elliott is going to be re-joining us to present Good Morning Walesin the New Year. She’s going to form a formidable partnership with Ollie in the mornings. More on those plans to follow in the coming weeks.
It’s been great to see the Radio Wales Advent Calendar open up daily on Facebook. There are some real video gems on there, including the moment that U2dropped in to wish Mike Peters well for his concert with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales.

Wynne Evans at Christmas
This week, tune into Jason on Wednesday at 10.30am for an extended interview with Nicola Reyes – nearly six months after her release from prison in the Dominican Republic. Plus fresh from launching Christmas last week, Wynne Evans has spent a day with Wales’ largest sorting office – so you know who to blame if you’re mail doesn’t turn up on time! Find out how he gets on in the Big Welsh Weekend, Friday at 1pm. While we’re on the subject of posties, catch up with the story of Tudor Morgan from Monmouthshire, as he travels to the South Pole to help run the post office there. You can hear The Polar Postmasteron Saturday at 1.30pm.
Finally, Greta Issac is the Radio Wales Artist of the Week this week. Down By The Water can be heard across the output all this week. Greta’s with Eleri on Wednesday.
