I'm pleased to present you with your first earworm of the week. Before I left last Friday, I signed off the trail for the final edition of A String of Pearls, which uses 'Wish Me Luck As You Wave Me Goodbye' as the musical bed throughout. Since then, I haven't been able to get the tune out of my head. I guarantee by the end of this note, neither will you!

Dewi Griffiths

I know Dewi has been preparing for this final show for a long time. I know he knows what he wants to say; the last songs that he wants to play. So make sure that you are tuned into BBC Radio Wales at 9.30am on Sunday morning for a moment of broadcasting history.

On Friday, we'll be saluting Dewi with a look back at his career on Good Morning Wales and playing some of his favourite songs throughout the day. Then there's something quite special between 3-4pm; the Phil Dando Big Band and The Siren Sisters will be joining Wynne Evans and friends as we give A String of Pearls the send-off it deserves.

It's worth saying what the plan is once A String of Pearls finishes. Roy Noble moves to a new slot of 9.30-11am and both he and Beverley Humphreys in the evening, will broaden the playlist to incorporate some of Dewi's repertoire. I'll talk more about the new Sunday schedule next week, including an announcement about the latest addition to our presenter line-up.

We're spooling forward a few years on Saturday morning at 9am as we head to the annual Elvis Festival in Porthcawl for a Money for Nothing special. If you love Elvis, but mainly if you love a laugh, it is unmissable stuff and Owen at his very best.

The fall-out from the Scottish Referendum will no doubt continue to dominate the news agenda this week. Yesterday's Sunday Supplement is a must listen if you are keen to understand the implications for Wales. On Wednesday, Plaid Cymru leader Leanne Wood takes your calls on Jason's show in the latest in our series of Welsh party leader phone-ins.

On Sunday at 1.30pm, Dylan's Amateur Operatics following the members of Swansea's Little Theatre amateur drama group as they prepare to perform a play exploring the life, work and loves of Swansea's most famous son.

I can't promise any operatics on the Radio Wales Playlist but I can promise everything from Bryan Adams, The Script, George Ezra, Al Lewis and Alva Leigh, Bright Light Bright Light and the Radio Wales Artist of the Week, Gabrielle Murphy. Gabrielle is 18 and from Treherbert and is one of our Horizons 12. She’ll be playing her new song Lockdown live on Eleri’s show on Wednesday. And you can also hear it throughout the week across the schedule.

Finally today, thoughts across Wales will turn to Gresford where 266 men died in a colliery disaster 80 years ago today. At 6.30pm, there's a special programme – Gresford - The Miner's Hymn – about a piece of music composed by Robert Saint to mark the disaster. There will also be a tribute at Sealand Road ahead of tonight's derby between Chester and Wrexham. That game is live on Radio Wales Sport from 7pm.
