On Saturday, the Radio Wales Sport team brought us five commentaries in ten hours. On Sunday it was all about Dylan Thomas, with a stunning performance of Under Milk Wood on the New York stage where it was first performed. If you were watching Strictly, X Factor or even the Welsh BAFTAs, I forgive you – BUT you really must go back and catch it sometime over the next 30 days because it’s breathtakingly good. As is the pre-performance show which featured insights and perspectives about the poet you may never have heard.

Lynn Bowles begins her new radio show on Sunday
Next Sunday, the bunting is out ready for the arrival of Lynn Bowles. Lynn’s new 2-4pm show is going to be a mix of great music, celebrity guests (starting with Paul Hollywood) and a host of experts that may or may not be called The Bowles Team - we’ll decide later. I saw her in London last week and she is so excited to get started. And we’re so excited to have her. Read everything you need to know about Lynn in last weekend’s Wales Online article.
Jamie’s got his walking boots back on as he makes his way across the country in a new series of Jamie Owen’s Wales (Saturday 1.30pm). This time his journey starts in Rhyl before heading off to Bodnant Gardens. Jamie’s also in for Jason Mohammad on Wednesday and Thursday this week.
On Friday, we’re expecting a thriller from Jason as he takes his show to Llancaiach Fawr in Nelson for Halloween. And I hope Beverley Humphreys won’t be spooked out by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales on Sunday when she plays some of their recent Halloween concert on her World of Music.
Louise Latham is the Radio Wales Artist of the Week this week. Louise is a great singer-songwriter from Cardiff. You can hear her new song, A Child in My Eyes, across the station all this week. And talking of great singer-songwriters, Annie Lennox is Eleri Sion’s guest on Thursday. Today at 2.30pm, she’s joined by Graham Norton. Yes, I know!
Finally, best of luck to Swansea City as they head to the north-west, aiming to take a second Merseyside scalp in successive rounds of the League Cup. Can they beat Brendan Rodgers’ off-form Liverpool? Find out on Radio Wales Sport, tomorrow at 7pm.
