Porthmadog in Gwynedd was the warmest place in Wales yesterday with a high of 24.1°C and Aberporth in Ceredigion enjoyed over 15 hours of sunshine.

The satellite picture for 11am today shows a mixture of cloud and sunshine in Wales. Also some sea fog over the Irish Sea near Anglesey.

Over the next few days, cloud amounts will vary from day to day but apart from the odd shower it will remain dry and settled with sunny spells.

A weak cold front will move south tomorrow and this will introduce slightly cooler, fresher air from the north and lower humidity.

Forecast chart for 19 June 2014

The weekend will be dry thanks to high pressure. Highest temperatures will be in the south and southeast reaching around 21°C. Further north, it will be somewhat cooler, especially on the coast; nearer 15 or 16°C with a north to north-westerly breeze off the sea.

Next week, there's more fine and warm weather to come thanks to high pressure. Later in the week it may break down with some rain on the way - although the exact timing of a change to more unsettled weather is uncertain at the moment, so the dry spell could last a bit longer.
