It may be dry and sunny today but November so far has been generally mild with little frost but wet, especially in south and southwest Wales.
Today looks like being the best day of the week as far as dry weather and sunshine are concerned and this week will overall be drier than last week, but tomorrow a front will bring some rain. This will clear tomorrow night with mist and fog patches forming. On Thursday morning, fog could be a problem if you’re travelling – it will be dense in places and slow to lift. Otherwise Thursday will be dry and cloudy although parts of the north and northwest should be brighter with some sunshine.

Over the weekend, the rain is expected to spread further east followed by brighter and colder conditions on Sunday but the forecast is not straightforward and the rain could be slower to clear; it all depends on the position of the jet stream with high pressure over Russia.
Parts of Italy and Switzerland have been hit by fatal floods recently.
While on the other side of the Atlantic, the US is having an early taste of winter with a cold plunge from the Arctic.
Here in the UK, there is still no sign of any significant cold weather on the horizon but with differences between the weather computer models predicting what is going to happen next week, this is proving difficult. The position of the jet stream is likely to change but where it ends up is open to doubt.
Temperatures are most likely to remain around average for the rest of this month. As we head into December, though, it may turn a little colder with some snow on high ground in the north but nothing out of the ordinary for the time of year.
