Back on my high horse

Adam Walton

This week's show is now available via the BBC iPlayer. Please listen again any time between now and the start of the next programme.

I'm getting a little tired of the embroidered, over pretty and civilised.

Music - as championed on most radio - is ever so nice. Maybe it's because everything, these days, is branded rather than celebrated. At least, that's the way it feels.

All we musical apparatchiks might better serve this wonderful force by, well, serving it rather than trying to mould it. Music is bigger, more varied, frightening, and replete with possibilities than any of us could imagine. The things that don't fit are the things that are worth celebrating most of all, in my opinion anyway.

It's good to be back on my high horse.

Nice view.

This week's show features first time plays for Sinéad Claire, Guerilla Warfare, Korsakoffs, Church of the ASBO Militia, Radio Rhydd, Deep Cut, A Little Orchestra, Shhh... Apes!, The Sonic Executive Sessions, Camsonic, Brownfield/Byrne Quintet, Tomos Power, Soluble Sounds and Ardie Collins.

Please send new music, whatever its shape or form, either via the BBC Introducing Uploader - or, if you prefer, as a download link to: themysterytour@gmail.com

If you submit music directly, please notify me via twitter @welshmusic -- so I can keep an eye out for it.

Elsewhere in the show, Huw Williams excavates something ace from David.

And Ben Hayes treats us to Fad Gadget.

As we've just - allegedly - entered a new season, here are the stats for the show, so far, this year:
