As expected Easter was cold but dry with some sunshine. I spent the long weekend in Gwynedd and managed to get out and do a few walks.
On Saturday we walked from Borth y Gest to Criccieth on the Wales Coast Path. The beach at Morfa Bychan and Black Rock Sands is gorgeous!
On Easter day we went to Barmouth and did part of the panoramic walk which I filmed for Weatherman Walking back in 2009. The views across the Mawddach estuary were stunning with Cadair Idris covered in snow.
On Bank Holiday Monday, I did a short walk to the lakes above Llandecwyn on part of the Ardudwy way and then drove to Llangollen for a bite to each before heading back home.
The hills and mountains in Denbighshire are still covered in snow.
The current dry and cold spell looks set to continue for the rest of this week with a mixture of clouds and sunshine.
The wind will lighten by the weekend which means it won't feel quite so cold in the day but still cold enough overnight for frost.
Next week looks set to bring a big change in the weather pattern. The blocking high pressure system to the north of the UK will move away.
This means it will turn less cold but more unsettled with low pressure over the Atlantic bringing rain.
