Dipping my feet in
Quite literally today, as I got a tip-off that some our camera team were off filming a dipper's nest, which they'd been watching near the dam at Lake Vyrnwy. Cameraman John Aitchison was on a mission to fix a camera under a bridge to film the nest:
Filming kites at Gigrin
The weather was definitely against us as we drove into dark clouds and torrential rain on our way down to Gigrin Farm, so not ideal kite flying weather! Around an hour and half later we arrived at the farm and the skies were beginning to clear.

Up with the larks
A cold dark start to the day today; 3.30am to be precise... I'd agreed to cover a dawn chorus with Simon King and Chris Watson, and we began to assemble outside the hotel reception in the half light.
Bird song quiz
Getting out and about at dawn is physically demanding, but rewarding from a nature point of view. The dawn chorus is a great wildlife experience.
