Mollie King just misses out on the Final as she leaves Strictly 2017

It's the week no one wants to go home, but unfortunately it was Mollie's turn tonight. Having performed two wonderful routines with Pro partner AJ in Saturday's Semi-Final, she saw herself scored lowest overall by the Judges and at the bottom of the leaderboard as a result.

Once the public votes had been counted, Mollie and AJ landed in the Dance Off for the third time this series, this time against Gemma and Aljaž. They performed their higher-scored Waltz in the hope of being given another chance, but it wasn't third time lucky for the couple, as the Judges voted unanimously to save Gemma.

When making her choice, Darcey said: “Both couples made a great great improvement, but the couple that was more assured and more confident was Gemma and Aljaž.”

Craig and Bruno also came to the same decision, which Shirley said she would've agreed with had she needed to vote.

Despite being just one week away from the Final, Mollie graciously accepted defeat, saying to Tess: "Thank you to everyone who has voted us through to the Semi-Finals. It’s so far beyond what we ever thought that would happen, I’m so so grateful for that. Thank you to all the professionals, you have been so much fun and so encouraging. Thank you to the Judges, you have just been unbelievable and I will forever remember everything that you said, and I will take it on board when I’m dancing at home or wherever I’m dancing.

"Above all, AJ, you have been just incredible and you have been my hero for the last couple of months, so thank you so much. I couldn’t have done any of it without you.”

They leave behind our four Strictly Finalists of 2017, Gemma Atkinson, Alexandra Burke, Debbie McGee and Joe McFadden.
