It is no secret that J Vine and I operate at opposite ends of the wardrobe. JV-cool, authoritative suits. SM-dresses like a teenager. Broadcasting in a suit feels all wrong to me-restrictive, formal and uncomfortable. So if today's show sounds a little off, a little…tight and somewhat dressy and ornate, don’t be surprised. I will be suited and booted as I am required to attend a Buckingham Palace Garden Party. I know. And jeans and sloppy casual tops are not really the done thing. This is a Prince’s Trust do and they are a very fine outfit indeed. I did an interview with Prince Charles for Radio 1 at a music workshop the Trust were running (1989 maybe?) and HRH mingled very happily with the kids, all of whom seemed to call him Charlie. Not something I will be trying to repeat later…
And a TUNESDAY on the way (maybe I’ll change during Supper’s Ready). Hooray!
And how about CARRY ON oldies? Yes please matron! They are back (apparently) with Carry On Doctors and Carry on Campus slated for 2017. Sounds utterly preposterous but what do I know?
