Dressing up (Part Two)

Hey (as we say at the Palace). Happy Wednesday groovers of the blog. So my trial-by-suit is over and I am free of annoying fabric-based oppression. But the garden party was fabulous with fine quality sandwiches and dainties on offer. Damian Lewis, Tony Hadley, Felicity Kendal, Pixie Lott and Fearne Cotton all say 'Hi'. As does HRH obviously. The weather held, the band played, and the Beefeaters were the best dressed by miles.

No gold lamé on view which was a shame, but we can put that right today as Martin Fry of ABC is in to talk The Look of Love Part 2. If you bought records at all in 1982, you bought Tropical Gangsters by Kid Creole and you bought The Look Of Love. Lush, luxuriant, exuberant and brilliantly produced by Trevor Horn, it was chock-full of great melodies. Classic pop. So how about GOLD LAMÉ tunes, BIG songs that should have (and maybe were) performed in gold lamé. You know you want to.
