Cold and Monday but a week of fine tunes, guests and, as yet, unplanned thrills are on the way. Confidence is high. Sugar levels are moderate, palpitations under control. A weekend of quiet contemplation, granola-making and TV watching in these parts. The thing is if you get a bug, these things have a habit of hanging around LIKE FOREVER so you have to hunker down and look after yourself by doing very little. A week that starts with a Book Club and a debut from Nicholas Searle who appears to be something of a mystery. He has worked in ‘government security in the past, somewhere in the civil service. Anyway he has written 'The Good Liar’, a story about a conman who intends one more ‘operation’, swindling an elderly woman out of her savings. It isn’t what you think however (of course) and the twists will keep you going to the end-check out the chapter online here.
