Well this is clearly ridiculous. Child 2 is claiming to be 20 today but I know that it was just last week she started at school so that can't be right. Either she's an imposter or I've lost a few years somewhere. One of those sunrise/sunset moments (see Fiddler On The Roof for details). It means that I'll miss the Elton John concert tonight! Family meal requirements mean that my seat can go to some other more deserving listener (oh the sacrifice). But Sir Elton is due on the show today at 5.15 as part of our EltDay and a shiny and sparkly one it promises to be. My platform boots are polished and ready.
Then Ray Mears is in with his autobiography My Outdoor Life. A more self-effacing man you couldn't find so an unlikely candidate for a memoir really but a man with a lot to say nevertheless. So RAY MEARS/SURVIVAL/BUSHCRAFT oldies will be a lovely thing. Time for my school shoes with a compass in the heel again.
Have a pleasing and useful Wednesday (not overly ambitious here) see you after 5.
