Pungent earthy aroma

Presenter

(drinks cabinet time)

(just looking honest)

(hardly ever go there)

(more of a cupboard anyway)

Brighter, drier, cooler. Tree still perky, even a few presents appear to have appeared. And Rick's masterclass in piano skills still running through my head. What a virtuoso! The Christmas medley was great, the Life On Mars was spine tingling. The listener who said he had wanted to give Rick a standing ovation had it about right. If you missed it, check iplayer and be amazed. If you heard it, listen again anyway!

Today another tunesmith returns. Nick Lowe has a Christmas album out called Quality Street. He writes consistently fantastic stuff and he doesn't disappoint here. No sleigh-bells but new songs and old classics too. Ron Sexsmith wrote Hooves On The Roof especially for Nick, Ry Cooder has co-written A Dollar Short For Christmas and Nick covers Wizzard's I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday. You get the picture. Nick at 6.

And OFFICE PARTY oldies please. See you at the photocopier.

Have a bargain-filled and smile-strewn Tuesday, see you at 5
