Rock and roll weariness in the house. Straight from yesterday’s show to the Royal Albert Hall to catch the might of David Gilmour. I’ve never seen him before, apart from the Live 8 Pink Floyd performance and it is one fine show. Stunning guitar, wonderful tunes and a devoted crowd made for a memorable evening. Hearing the opening chords of Shine On You Crazy Diamond and Wish You Were Here sent a shiver, a frisson, around the crowd. The new tunes are great too and when he introduced Graham Nash and David Crosby to do some some extra vocals, well we knew we being spoiled. A top night.
It was a top day too as interviewed Don Henley for the show-hear that next week! The Cass County album is full of top tunes-hear another one on Ken today. He has a voice to die for; grit and gravel, whisky and fags, warmth and wisdom. As you’ll hear next week.
