Shang-a-lang

Wednesday already and the sun is shining here. I have a film to watch, a rock star to talk to and a long-haired archaeologist to entertain...

I was never a Bay City Rollers fan. Never saw the attraction, didn’t fancy tartan sewn into my clothes and didn’t scream when Woody smiled. Jealousy might have been part of it admittedly but mainly I preferred 'There Goes Rhymin’ Simon' to ‘Rollin’ (yes even then). We had a great BCR confession a while back from a girl who cut up her family’s clothes to find tartan to use-that was hard core! Anyway SONGS FOR THE RETURN OF THE BAY CITY ROLLERS would be fun and is manifestly not the same as songs BY the Bay City Rollers. Be careful out there.

Also today top historian Neil Oliver on a novel he’s written (a novel! Is everyone doing it?) called Master of Shadows. Inspired by real historical characters (apparently) it is a tale of a young Scot called John Grant who finds himself in medieval Constantinople with Byzantine princes and mysterious women. There might be a heroic role for a long haired archeologist but I haven’t got to that bit yet.

Until 5 then, doo wop be dooby do ay to you all.
