This was never the way I planned

End of week one. And judging from the email ‘out of office’ replies I’ve had this week, I could be a week ahead of many. But it’s been a good one and the jam roly-poly has added some heft to our nimble exploits. Easy on the custard Nige, there are limits. Some of us have a gym routine to protect.

No film show for me today, Sanjeev Bhaskar standing in, so into the ARF studio with vim and vigour (vim turns out to be Latin for ‘energy, force, strength, energy‘ but then you may have known that). And making its debut, 2008 has emerged as our opening year of requirement. It’s a whole decade ago (obviously)! The Beijing Olympics were on with Team GB claiming 19 gold medals and finishing 4th in the medals table, their best for a century. Next stop London! There were a few financial stories around, the repercussions of which are still with us and Lewis Hamilton became the youngest ever Formula 1 champion. At the movies we have Twilight, Mama Mia and The Dark Knight. And on the radio, which big ol’ tunes do you fancy?
