And I've been workin' too, baby (yeah!)

Hey! Is that you? It's me here. Somewhat blearily stepping forth into Thursday. The Folk Awards show is always a big one and the morning after, even after a very sober pizza-based, post-show meal is a weary one. But that was a good one! Nick Lowe was the coolest man in the room/the whole building- dapper, elegant and busy with the crossword whilst all around him, creative chaos reigned. Billy Bragg turned out to be the only star with goatherd based knowledge. Al Stewart, once he'd stopped thinking Matt was me, had wonderful folk tales from the sixties and I hadn't heard most of them. PLUS that countdown was fun. The most played tunes is a whole other way of making a chart but lists are always great for argument. And Wild World, with Yusuf/Cat to talk about its writing and recording was a lovely way to finish.

Food today with Nige going for a tipsy cider cake (I'm not driving) and why not do IN-LAW oldies today? Tonight regular Pause-For-Thoughter Rev Kate Bottley is hosting Alone with the In-Laws on BBC2 where a couple who are about to get married spend time away from their intended and with their prospective in-laws. Neat idea I think so SONGS FOR THE IN-LAWS please. Thank you.

Carry on.
