Slim and shady

The seat is only slightly damp but that has nothing to do with me. I am blogging for you from the garden and very lovely it is too. I'm sure my lawn wouldn't compare to Matt's (another weeks holiday!) but if it's that wild, jungle feel you're after, well this is perfect. Plus, I can (almost) write and watch the swifts' dog-fight at the same time. It's slightly too early for the prosecco but the coffee and Grylls-style smoothie are working well. As long as the temperature doesn't increase from here, all will be fine. And I'm thinking AIRCON oldies please. Suddenly those public buildings with the magic AC will be popular and in London, the gorgeous Metropolitan Line will be stuffed with happy commuters who are just going for a chilled ride, wherever it takes them. Some AC tunes can only help us all.

And top historian David Starkey is on today too which might raise the temperatures again. He's always fascinating company and his Magna Carta book is full of information that you really should know but, and I'm sure this must be someone else's fault, you actually don't.

(Still no shorts by the way. Standards people).
