Well I appear to have won my own blog post game. I'm not even sure I'm allowed to win, it's bound to be against a number of rules. I shall buy myself an extra whizzy something-or-other. Here we are again, hope all is good in blog-land. I have spent the week in a traffic jam, on either the M5 or the M4. This wasn't what I was planning but some parts of the M4 countryside are quite lovely and will think about walking those rolling Taunton hills one day. Where I can laugh and point at the silly drivers getting steamed up in their expensive vehicles. There was time also to eat many pasties and pizzas, all the time shielding them from the greedy Cornish seagulls who have had quite enough of my food over the years.
So back for tonight's show and a Radio 2 Book Club with Joel Dicker's The Truth About The Harry Quebert Affair. It's a monster. It's huge. It's a hit. And you don't have to take my word for it. It was shortlisted for the Prix Goncourt and won the Grand Prix du Roman de l'Académie Francaise. It has sold more than two million copies across Europe and is about to sell a stack more. Let's ignore the fact that Joel was born in 1985 (oh my goodness) and sample some of his pages here. Joel's around from 6.
And how about songs for BLONDES. Yes that's right. We are an oppressed minority (mousy still counts as blonde in my book) and new research suggests that 'blondeness' is caused by one letter of the genetic code and is not related to anything else. Like stupidity for example. Jus thought I'd mention that...
That'll do, see you at 5.
Hooray!
