Such sad news about Tom Petty overnight. 66 is no age at all. His songs have been a staple of our music for so long whether as a Travelling Wilbury, a Heartbreaker, a solo artist or a producer. Everyone wanted to work with him, everyone wanted to see him live-his shows on his recent tour were, by all accounts, as wonderful as ever. I'm sure there will be tribute shows on Radio 2 on the way.
David Gilmour is back on the show today (did he ever record with Tom? I suspect not but will check with David later). His Live in Pompeii album and DVD is out and is the spectacular you'd expect. Tracks from his Rattle That Lock album mix with Pink Floyd classics and the sound is wonderful.
And with the finale of Doctor Foster tonight, it seems a moment to try some CHEATING oldies. We know Simon is a love rat but is there about to be a more vindictive conclusion to series 2? Songs please...
